Event photography is a big part of corporate marketing. It helps businesses show off their events, conferences, or exhibitions to both customers and other parties. Fotografen sind in den unterschiedlichsten Bereichen tätig. Nicht nur, um Fotos von Familien, Schulklassen oder Landschaften zu machen. Unternehmen und Veranstalter schätzen die Arbeit von Fotografen, um ihre Firma oder ihr Event in Form von Bildern präsentieren zu können. Hier wird auch der Social Media Bereich immer relevanter. Personen wollen sich mithilfe verschiedener Netzwerke ein Bild machen können, um vorab einen Eindruck zu gewinnen. Daher ist es von großer Bedeutung, sich in den Social Media so darzustellen, dass die Menschen positiv angesprochen werden. Um dies zu erreichen, ist es ratsam, jemand heranzuziehen, der professionell in diesem Bereich tätig ist.
Der 36-jährige Yehuda Swed ist seit 2011 selbstständiger Fotograf. Früher arbeitete er im Import und Export. Damals fragte er sich, was er wohl machen würde, wenn er ein profitables Business aufgebaut hätte. Die Antwort war, dass er die Welt bereisen und Fotos machen würde. Es folgte für ihn die Erleuchtung, dass er dafür nicht den Umweg über ein Business gehen muss und beschloss, Fotografie in Tel Aviv zu studieren. So konnte er gleich das machen, was ihn erfüllte.

Case Study: Onsite edit at the ITB
Onsite video editing for Shurooq (Sharjah Investment and Development Authority)
The Event
This was Shurooq’s 12th consecutive year of participating at ITB Berlin — the world’s largest travel and trade exhibition. Taking place between 6 to 10 March 2019, Shurooq’s booth at ITB Berlin showcased Sharjah’s key achievements in the travel and tourism sectors on leading global platforms, besides unveiling the latest developments on its cultural and eco-tourism profile.
The Video
In addition to event photography and videography of the client’s booth at the 2019 Berlin ITB Fair, the client requested for us to produce a short video that they could post on their Instagram account on the same day to boost awareness and visibility of Shurooq and Sharjah. To produce the Instagram video, we went through all the relevant footage shot throughout the day which captured special event highlights, the ambiance of the location, interviews with important guests, networking and interaction with clients and public visitors, and the general atmosphere of the event. After selecting the relevant frames, condensing certain parts for a time-lapse effect, adding in necessary special effects, a dynamic music track, as well as the client’s branding, we had the completed video ready for the client to share with their Instagram followers.

CWIEME Berlin | 2018
In this 3 days event, we had a team of 5 videographers, 2 photographers, one digital operator, one assistant, and one producer. We covered 2 events EV Momentum and CWIEME Berlin. The CWIEME event spread over 4 buildings. We had one interview studio and one roving interviews team. During these 3 days, we generate about 2TB of footage!

InVision Workshop | Berlin 2018
In this project, our event photographer photographed this 2 days workshop for InVision.
Focusing on the participants’ interactions and moods is one of the key elements that are giving great event coverage.
In this kind of event, we are looking for these small moments, smiling faces, focused and interested audience. Besides the keynote speakers, we focus on the small details to pass through to the viewer the atmosphere and the vibes that were at the event.

Super Return 2018
Our event photographer documented the 2 days high-end conference in Berlin. Jumping between parallel sessions, we captured all the keynotes and speakers. How did we do it? We used a “shoot and share” workflow where we focused on capturing photos for live blogging purposes but also recorded videos to share across social media channels. The result was a mix of visual storytelling and live blogging.
The challenge in this kind of event is to manage to photograph all the speakers since the sessions are running at the same time. From our side, that means a tight schedule and a lot of footwork.
